City Airport (also known as Barton Aerodrome) is Manchester's original Airport - see https://www.peellandp.co.uk/city-airport/ for more information on its history.
Today, it is a thriving general aviation airport situated in the City of Salford, just 5 miles from Manchester City Centre. Its goal is to ensure that City Airport can be a sustainable and thriving business and also a valuable and well respected aviation and local community asset.
Peel has donated a building at City Airport and Heliport Manchester to the Veterans’ Garage, which provides a unique approach to providing support to military veterans across the North West. The community project will restore the Grade 2 listed WWII airport terminal building into a base for ex-servicemen to learn new skills through classic car and motorcycle restoration.
